Every time I see Shayne Lamas on the "Bachelor: London Calling" wearing her shades. I go crazy because I want them. I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know who the designer is. I'm normally good at this sort of thing. Am I losing my touch??? God I hope not. I've posted the best pic I could find of her in her sunglasses. If you know who the designer is please put me out of my misery and let me know. Until then I will continue my search in hopes to find MY shades. (Just in case, she's the blonde)

Review: "Me and You and the World"

My last post came off a bit harsh. I'm not eating my words, but that was definitely not my intention. I have had this album in heavy rotation purely because I adore it, and I can't stop listening to it. Its comforting. "Nothing Else" gives you a nice, warm fuzzy feeling, soothing and soul pleasing. Dave is a pro at keeping his southern soulful, blues tone present in his music, and I love him for that (listen to "Since You Said I Do.") "Adeline" and "When a Heart Breaks" will touch you.
For a limited time iTunes has added "Me and You and the World" to the "Next Best Thing Sale" for only $5.99. Such a SOLID album. What a steal!

Between Us

I think when you find a good thing, you should share the wealth, so here I am sharing one of my favorite places in the city. Bloomie Nails for mani./pedi. nestled in Chelsea this is one weekly splurge that I have no apologies for. They have every essie and O.P.I color and on a slight chance they don't have it they will make sure its in the salon for your next visit. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, great service and great location and a nice salon, what more could you ask for. Tracy and Lisa are my favs. I'm always up to try new places but I always leave disappointed and wishing I went to Bloomie.
Every week I try to use a different color, this week I went with a mixture of two new shades, "Looking for Love" and "Great Expectations" (both essie). Ok T.M.I. Looks adorable.

What I'm Listening to: Dave Barnes

"Me and You and the World" Is playing as I type. I like what I hear thus far. I will say that I'm a little disappointed that two of the songs are from his "Brother, Bring the Sun" album. Seems like the creative juices ran out, and those two songs were put in as "Fillers". But who am I to judge. They're good songs and maybe I'm wrong but hey... Other than that I'm enjoying the album its honest and catchy just like the Dave Barnes sound we're accustom to and love. Its a bit too "Studio" slightly over-processed at times. And that I think, can sometimes make a good song bad. But, I'm going to give this album a few good listens and see if my thoughts have changed.

What I'm Listening to Now: Danity Kane

Now that my iTunes shopping cart is fixed. (Those of you still waiting for the fix, email tech. support and they will and they will clear it out for you which will solve the 5002 error. I didn't get the memo, that my shopping cart shouldn't be used as a wish list. I digress.) "Welcome to the Dollhouse" was the first album to purchase and I like what I hear. "Strip Tease" totally Sick...LOVE IT! I bet this whole album will become part of my workout playlist.

I Can't Believe I Watched...

The Hills season premier. I'm not a big fan of the show, but every once in a while I'll tune in. How gorgeous was Paris??? I think I watched for that reason alone. I wonder how many trips are now in the works because of that episode, mine included?

Its been a long time since I have done a post of what I'm on the verge of purchasing. I've been eyeing this bag for a few weeks and I think it would be a nice addition.
ELuxury Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr. Q Hillier Hobo Bag $478. The smaller Dr. Q is at Neiman Marcus for $398. I could have sworn I saw it at Shopbopbut if I did its not there anymore, which is a shame...no tax and no shipping. Oh well!

What "I've Been Listening" To: Sara Bareilles

Since I haven't done this post in forever I figured I need to play catch up with a few posts. So here it goes.
I didn't give in to this album until recently. I heard the catchy number "Love Song" too many times to count. I found myself singing the song at random moments (still do. *grin*) so I said "To iTunes" and the download began. To my pleasant surprise "Little Voice" is a good album. Unexpectedly good. Listen to "Vegas,". "Morningside," "Fairytale."

New Recipe

I think my (Tazo) Earl Grey tea has some kind of effect that makes me awfully bubbly. I've never noticed this mood enhancing effect before. Maybe I'm just excited that my Euro. trip is less than a month away, or could it be I have a pair of Wellies arriving today? (Will post a pic later today) Or my encounter with the cute Whole Foods employee was more amusing than I realized. What ever the reason is for my sudden glee, I must say I am very appreciative, because its Monday morning and things are not always this cheery.

Look what T-Mobile's got. I think its time for me to finally let my Sidekick addiction go. I was about to upgrade my Cingular phone, oops "ATT" phone to the Curve but to my surprise T-Mobile just got these in. (Yes I still have two phones) For the record Tmobile has better plans for data phones/pda's, plus my faves, it doesn't get much better than that. So I may finally be giving up one of my phones.

I'm Back!

I was never really gone. A lot has been going on and I allowed myself to be completely consumed, and I didn't even blog about it.
Currently I am planning my first trip to Europe, and I am thrilled. First of all I cannot believe that I have never been, yet I know it will be one of my happy places, London in particular. (Don't ask me why) So when I thought "What do I want to do for my 27th b-day" I figured since the past few birthdays were flops I want to make this year a good one. And what better place to spend it in? So I am going for about 10 days and I will be going to London and Barcelona. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I will be doing many corny updates about this trip until I leave. And then continue with more annoying posts once I land.

Last Night...

I could not put it off any longer, I had to finish reading Harry Potter.
I was taking my time and savoring the final installment of this epic.
But, I couldn't take the suspense any longer. I was shocked, moved and
reduced to tears more than I can remember. The book was absolutely
brilliant. I LOVED IT!!! Like so many others, I became so attached to
the series, to that world, to the characters, to their cause. I am
crushed that the journey came to an end, but then, all good things have
to. "The Boy Who Lived" will always have a place in my heart.

What I'm Listening to Now: Wild Hope

I haven't done this post in a while, I've been letting my laziness get
the best of me. I will do better.
Now on to the music.
I can't stop listening to this little gem. I didn't think I would like
this album as much as I do. Wild Hope is the side of Mandy I've been
wanting to hear (bubble gum not included). WH is a great road trip
album. The songs are catchy and it doesn't come off as too heavy or
overly polished. Its its an honest, hopeful album.

I am so tired right now. I had a really good Yoga practice this evening
and normally I will take a shower and off to bed I go.... NORMALLY!
However tonight is a special night. Tonight, Harry Potter and the Order
of the Phoenix will show at 11:59 pm. You may call me hard core. And so
what if I am. I admit I'm a total nerd that totally loves this story.
And I've doing this ever since I became a fan. And even though I'm
really tired and have to get up at the crack of dawn. It will be worth
it all.
